Series of workshops, seminar & outreach including:
A 12-week program using the power of rhythm and dance to uplift and support low-income families in our community. This initiative breaks financial barriers to arts access, offering inclusive participation for all.
Funded in part with the support of a City of Surrey Community Grant.
20-minute live performance on the Community Stage.
20-minute set on the Community Dance Stage.
Participation with three main teams in Bhangra & Luddi categories.
Two-day outdoor competition with Folk Star Arts Academy teams.
Punjabi Folk Dance (Bhangra & Giddha), Dhol, Drawing, Fitness & more. Fun, active, and cultural learning experience.
Open workshop: Bhangra, Luddi, Sammi, Jindua, Jhumar & Giddha + Dhol basics.
Interactive session with performers before the main gala.
Traditional & contemporary calligraphy showcase.
Flagship performance at Bell Performing Arts Centre. Reserve seats in advance.
(Culture Days) Bhangra exhibition + energetic live performances.
Energetic Bhangra workshops open to all ages and levels.
Vibrant celebration of art & culture featuring a special Punjabi Dhol & Indigenous Powwow collaboration.

Save the date for July 18 & 19, 2026. Folk Star Arts Academy will be participating with three main teams, showcasing the richness and diversity of Punjabi folk dance through powerful Bhangra and Luddi performances.
Folk Star Arts Academy is excited to announce our participation in this 2-day outdoor competition. Our teams will be competing on both days, showcasing high-energy Punjabi folk dance and representing our community with pride.
Folk Star Arts Academy will deliver a high-energy 20-minute performance on the Community Stage.

The Folk Star Arts Academy is situated on the ancestral, traditional, and unceded territories of the Salish Peoples, including the qΜicΜΙyΜ (Katzie), qΜΚ·Ι:nΜΖΜΙnΜ (Kwantlen), and sΗmyΓ‘mΗ (Semiahmoo) land-based Nations.
We teach Punjabi Folk Dance Such as Bhangra ,Gidha ,Folk Music and Dhol Instrument. We also organize and join Festivals on every year.Β
